Eh, surprising indeed. NEVER thought these 2 would top the poll, especially considering some people around here were a bit deceived by that Nile disc.

But overall very nice list! Thanks LOAF....

Megadeth is right where it should be on that list. You hear that BWBK?

Thanks for the lists, there was about 115 in total.

I'm really suprised that Mayhem came out at number one. It wasn't on as many list as a few others but it was ranked higher in those individual lists.
But the top 10 ended up being very close

Was it the same for the Nile? Or was this one on more list but lower in the rankings?

Very solid list. Disappointed at the lack of Vrolok and Middian, but whatever.

Cobalt seems to be the only Profound Lore disc that made the cut, that is a damn shame.

What the fuck are you talking about, Megadeth is ON the list, something's wrong, obviously.

I mean, I love the band, I love Shawn and Glen (EIDOLON!!!!!), but this is really not Megadeth's best.

EDIT: mandy beat me to it.

Awesome work LOAF! :abbath: Alas I never got around to submitting my list, even though I thought ahead enough to reserve a post in the thread. I, twit.

Ah come on the new Megadeth was a pretty good CD. Not their best by any stretch but I found it worthy. The Mayhem being #1 is what's surprising.

probably my highest proportion of bands from my list on this one than any other year.

dissappointed in the lack of love for the new impaled and blood duster, but what else is to be expected?

Well according to my tastes I agree, I think it's a pile of generic and forced pseudo-thrash with dumb lyrics and zero replay value, but some people liked that one go figure. At least #36 sounds more realistic than #1.

Malefic: Alcest score 33.

No, it was up there, the top 2 - 6 had around the same number of hits.

Well done LOAF, as usual. I totally slacked on my list this year... just figuring out in the nick of time that I had yet to submit it. I usually put a lot of work into my list, but this year it didn't happen, and I posted it right in the nick of time. I blame it on the wealth of quality releases this year, but it probably has to with my own laziness.

Profound Lore only did the US version of it, so that really didn't count for me.

Baroness would have been on mine had I heard them before I made it. Oh well.

I'm glad to see so much of what I enjoy on the list. I own half of the top ten alone.

Great stuff. Thanks LOAF!

Maybe I'm weird but I fail to see how Cobalt only score #99....hell if a release blew me away this year it was Cobalt...That and Ire Works are the most interesting pieces of heavy music I heard all year.

But then I don't think that many people around here heard it anyway.

Sodom didn't even crack the top 100?! And why is Emissaries right beside the disappointingly sterile In Sorte Diaboli?!

I'm surprised Dimmu even made the 100. That album sucks.
