Post Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
What horrible news to wake up to. :(

I wasn't a really close friend of Adrian the way Bruni or FiS were, but he was definitely a good buddy and a joy to be around.

When HMV did our big Metal Day on 6/6/06, Adrian was all over the idea and gave us boxes upon boxes of stuff from The End and huge stacks of Unrestrained mags to give away. Stickers, posters, samplers, you name it. He came in at least twice to bring us stuff, and then on the day itself he came in just to see how it was going. Every single person who purchased Metal that day got something in their grab bag that he personally delivered.

Then there was him hooking April up with passes for Mindless Self Indulgence, without even being asked. He just knew that she loved them and couldn't afford to go, and he wasn't going to let that happen. The only condition? I had to go as well. I'll never forgive him for that.

We shared a few drinks, hung out at shows (I remember seeing him at ProgPower 5 in Atlanta and being like "shit, that's Bromley!!"), and he was always beyond cool to me. When he came back to Toronto a few months ago, I met up with him at the Blue Moon and he had a stack of vinyl from bands that I've never heard of, but his passion was so obvious that I couldn't help but soak up everything he said.

Metal in general is worse off without him, not just Toronto's community. I'll miss him at every show I attend from this point on. R.I.P. buddy. :(

Post Re: Adrian 'The Energizer' Bromley - Rest In Peace
I am finding hard the words right now to say about the loss of a great friend Adrian. Maybe with a little time I can gather my thoughts better, but suffice to say the metal world lost a giant yesterday and I lost a close friend. My heart is broken and I am devastated at this news of Adrian's passing. 37 is too young to die. He had so much to look forward too, with his upcoming marriage to the love of his life Renee. Adrian, I love you big guy and will miss you tremendously. Thank you for always being there for me when I needed a friend. There will never be another like you. We often joke about people being original and breaking the mold after they made them, but it was true about you. There has never been another like you and never will again.

Never met him personally which I regret. From what I read from those that did, he was a hell of a guy.

RIP

I didn't know Adrian, but I could tell he was a genuinely, and universally nice guy, which is my style, definitely. We've always needed more nice guys like him around, so it's quite the loss. I don't know what else to say except that he has my ultimate respect as a person.

These are my feelings as well, put better than I could have.

Now he's going to see the Great Gig in the Sky. :(

Adrian was always unfailingly upbeat and friendly. A few years back when I was having one of my periodic meltdowns, even though he barely knew me he called me just to see how I was doing. I appreciated it greatly. I wish I was a quarter as outgoing, gregarious and driven as the bunny was.

It is absolutely unfair and wrong that he is gone from the world so young. R.I.P. man. I wish I had taken the time to get to know you better. :(

R.I.P. Adrian.
Last time i saw him was at woods/wolven/wota show. He was in good spirits, enjoying what he loved: metal. Glad i got to talk to him that night. He was a good man.

What a tragic loss.
The first time I met Adrian, he was so damn cool and nice. He gave me a stack of Unrestrained mags, and could shoot the shit about metal like nobodys business.
I last saw him about 2 years ago at the Saturnus/Novembers Doom show in NYC, and it was like seeing a dear old friend.

You will be missed, man.
All my best to Renee and his family.

Im stunned and deeply saddened.
Go easy, bro.

I just don't know what to say. I'm so sad that I never got to meet this legend of a man. My condolences to his family and friends, if there's anything I can contribute from here I am more than happy to do so.

This is from Winston Bromley, Adrian's twin brother. Adrian succumbed to Pneumonia on Sunday morning. He had this afflication for the past few weeks and he passed in his sleep. I am touched by everyone's comments and I know that INERTIA /Noel is organizing an event for Adrian here in Toronto, at a venue to be announced. We are also setting up a fund but Noel will post that information later. There will be more posting of official memorials/tributes.

I am extremely humbled by my brother's friend's outpouring of emotions and yes, he always had that on- the go excitement about him and was very easy to make friends with. Put him in any room, metal, or any other and he would befriend most of the room.

I miss you bro.

Winston

Thanks, Winston. Many of us won't be able to make it to a memorial but would definitely chip in for any services. Just our way of showing how much he meant to all of us.

I am still in complete shock.
Adrian was one of a kind for sure - he always helped me out in any way possible. He used to call me at work and pretend he was someone else just to mess with my head - it always made me smile.

I will remember him by the many things that he gave us and music that he introduced Kev and I to.

RIP dear friend :(

I am totally speechless as I wasn't expecting this when I woke up just 1 hour ago. :(

Adrian, you were an amazing person. You had awesome passion for all the things you did. You were a great friend. I feel lucky for having met an individual as you in this lifetime.

I had met the bunnyman at Maryland Deathfest, Progpower as well as when I came up to Toronto for Days of the Equinox.

Last time I chatted with him was when he wanted me to spread the word of wonderful band Musk Ox. He did this various times making sure no one would know he was involved.

I remember giving him fun filled smart ass talk about how I felt bad for the poor vendors that worked at the vinyl stands at the fests due to Adrian's awesome enjoyment for vinyl.

It was cool how we shared a passion for metal as well as our own furry cats.

I feel so very lucky to have been able to meet you Adrian(Bunnyman). :m:

:( It's just mind-blowing to think that someone so unbelievably full of life, who seemed to be everywhere at once, doing everything imaginable to make our community great can possibly be gone.

RIP Adrian. This thread alone is proof that you achieved some incredible things in your 37 years.

My condolences to Winston, Renee, and the dozens, probably hundreds of others who find themselves short a major part of their lives today.
