It has an Enslaved vibe. Sounds good. I'd like MOAR BASS to the overall sound to give it MOAR BALLS.

ditto on the "moar bass", love the vocals, you have the "birds of prey" sound that I fucking love. Dude, that song ripped

Just got a drumkit for free from a family friend. It's cheap and small and I don't have pedals yet but I've played more music in the past three days than I did in the previous three weeks... so that's good. Just gotta get a crash (currently just have a hat and a tiny ride) and a double kick pedal and I'll be away to races.

Maybe a splash.
Maybe a china.
Maybe more than one crash.
GAS taking hold...

its trains of thought like that why i hate walking into music stores

instead of just figuring out what i need and looking for that specifically, i end up dreaming of just everything i could possibly want but don't need

I know that I need a double kick and a crash. Everything after that is me being stupid. We'll see how I feel after a few months with a bare bones kit.

Got nerve damage in my fretting ring finger that makes guitar difficult. At first I was really bummed out, I used to play well enough people were kinda-sorta buzzing about it at bars and shit, but it turns out I'm more inclined to play piano. I produce better music on it and my playing is cleaner. Not to mention reading sheet music is far easier when each note is on the instrument once and only once.

Foolishly, the first thing I tried to learn was the third movement of Moonlight Sonata, because I love that piece, but it's very energetic. I figured it out though, I can currently play about a minute of it at full speed with a few fuckups here and there. Arps on piano are way, way easier. Like if your chord is three notes, you just memorize three shapes and kind of "spider" your way up the board. Kinda like tapping on guitar; you can just fly almost right away.

i never fully realized what a giant pain in the ass trying to find anywhere to practice as a drummer would be while living in an apartment.

never seemed to be an issue to find somewhere else to practice when i did have the option to at home, now that i no longer have that option, seems like nobody else does either. there's local spaces i can rent, but $ adds up quick to be renting it on my own, and barely having played the last 3-4 years i'm in need of practice time on my own just to get back to a level where i'm ready to play with a band again.

vicious fucking circle. need a band to practice, need practice to find a band. ugh.

I lost part of my pinkie finger in a freak prybar accident, but managed to have it reattached. Finally healed and the nail is growing back in. There's a bone chip in there somewhere, but it doesn't seem to affect anything, and the fracture is healed.

GONNA GET BACK TO MUSIC w00t w00t.

Holy shit man, that's every musicians nightmare! Glad to hear it hasn't affected your playing.

You can always drum with your face like that clown dude from Slipknot. He seems pretty on the ball.
