 Re: Random Musician Shtuff
these are the ones i'm looking to convert they're my backup pedals so if i fuck it up it won't be the end of the world, but i want to convert them to make them more like these. i have another better pearl double pedal i've currently got setup as 2 singles but its got some generic ass model # i can't remember found someone talking about converting theirs on the drum subreddit and then found this short video showing how somebody did theirs, ignore the awful background music, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MI6WiukeEYfigure if i basically have to re-learn how to play anyway may as well try and work on my technique but i'm having a hard time playing heel-toe doubles and hoping more pedal surface area helps with that what is moon gel?

 Re: Random Musician Shtuff
little sticky gel damper pads. washable and reusable. kills mad overtones.

ah okay, cool i've got my roland kit for when i need to be quiet, not my favourite but it works. otherwise if i really want to use my acoustic i've just been using dampening rings and mouse pads doesn't work for the kicks though, can you use this moon stuff on the kick drums? how hard is it to remove if you no longer want them dampened?

 Re: Random Musician Shtuff
oh it comes off real easy. and when you move it around the head it dampens in different ways. doesn't really make the kit any quieter, just takes out a lot of the ringing for a deader sound. haven't tried on the kick, the blankie inside deads that enough. mostly use them on the toms and i have one on the snare but i'm not convinced it's doing much. works really well on the toms though. only like $7 at guitar center or wherever.

 Re: Random Musician Shtuff
I decided that I want to learn The Speed of Light by Iron Maiden. I started into it last night, and got it all down pat up to the first chorus. The pre chorus is so fucking righteous

 Re: Random Musician Shtuff
setup a practice pad (which is essentially just one of the drum pads off my elec kit mounted on a cymbal stand) in the living room so i can work on rudiments more.
also just remembered i can use my elec kit with rock band so may pickup a copy of that to be able to play along to some shit

 Re: Random Musician Shtuff
I spent the Leafs game learning to play the solo near the beginning of One by Metallica. I didn't get the whole thing down pat, but I only have two or three bars left before I've got it beaten. I'm really glad it was as easy to learn as it was. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this
