It's stupid of them. The last ones were Canadian-designed, too. Why they want to change, who the fuck knows? To look more like their retard cousins to the south? To be cheaper in their replacement program by having a "one pattern fits all" policy? Vance maybe getting kickbacks from the makers of Multicam? Or are they just tired of wearing the same old same old, and like a chick after a breakup just want ice cream & clothes shopping?

The minister or PMO should squelch this idea, especially considering that the Multicam is used by other armies without much control over whom (including some "bad guy" ones that would have an opportunity to use confusion).

Plus, why give the Yanks business which could help our own, while Trump is acting like Canada slipped him a cactus tampon?

:stupider:

Correct me if I am wrong, but the patterns in Canadian camo is specifically "recognized" by the AI in Canadian military sensors to discern Canadian troops from other troops, no? As I understand it, a lot goes into these uniforms. It's not just "green-colored" fabric.

I think the Canadian uniforms, different from all other nations (which is kind of the point of any country's armed forces), are worth keeping.

Not sure about that AI bit, but I know a lot of work went into designing and patenting their CADPAT designs, including features in the official uniforms which are not for the general public to have. And nobody else wears it, though some other designs look similar.

You'd think CSIS would just have someone stationed in these mosques full-time.

They're probably busy doing surveillance on environmentalist groups instead.

Further proof that oil dollars are all that matters.

A shock when I realized the male officer in Fredericton was someone from my hometown. Two years younger. A truly nice, good person. Such a shame. Incredibly sad.

The cops made a pretty big bust recently out here in Metro Vancouver, of some Red Scorpion successor gang. Aside from the usual drugs and cash found, the real thing to note was the weapons, and how many were seized. You'd think the punishment for that should be more than for the drugs. This is mostly about that Fraser Valley & Metro Vancouver shooting epidemic we keep hearing about. Scum killing scum mostly, except when they kill some innocent bystander by mistake.

(Scratch the surface in Toronto, you'd probably find the same sort of thing.)

https://vancouversun.com/news/crime/police-probe-leads-to-dozens-of-charges-against-red-scorpion-kang-gangsters
https://vancouversun.com/news/staff-blogs/real-scoop-kangs-red-scorpions-charged-after-massive-investigation

Reporter Kim Bolan has done a lot of stories on gangs, Indo-Canadian terrorists and made a few enemies over the years for all that, but he's pretty much the only full time journalist covering the issue.

But what really makes this stuff hilarious is the comments he got on his story, from gangsters and their associates. Like 2-3 normal people commented, and the rest are from a bunch of Tony Montana wannabes. Talking trash, like the want attention for X and Y and Z - but then complaining about "rats".

(By the way, the comments go from newest to oldest, so start at the bottom and it wil make more sense. Teminology: BK = Brother's Keepers gang; UN = "UN" gang; PC = protective custody?; GP = general population?)

BC didn't. The mayor of Victoria did, and is probably gonna lose the upcoming civic election because of it.

Yeah I guess saying BC is basically like saying Canada did it. Painted with too broad a brush.

That's like saying that because you're from Canada, your name is Dave...oh wait.

It's not "Dave did it". Political representation does equal to "[place] did it" except in this case it's not BC, it's Victoria specifically as this was handled on a local level.

Nothing substantial publicized yet. No motive out yet either.

Not much. I think I read that the gun used was legally owned, but that's all I know.
