Post The Canadian political bullshit thread: Poutine Edition
Seems kind of odd that we don't have a thread for Canadian politics, so here we go.

Thoughts on Kevin O'Leary throwing his name in for the PC leadership?

Our Prime Minister was very upset when his real dad (Fidel Castro) died:

My thoughts are that we just had an election last year and we are not the fucking states, we don't start the new campaign season as soon as the old one finishes. Some cartoon character declaring he wants to join in the fun does not change that.

Our problems aren't nearly as bad as the U.S. and therefore aren't as exciting to talk about. However, I'm sure Svarog would say otherwise.

I totally dig Canadian politics more than American ones. Starting with O'Leary? He won't make it. Even his friends turn against him.

I agree. I am not interested in Canadian politics at all. I just vote for the party that will make my life the easiest (which is usually a Conservative government, but sometimes is a Liberal government - the NDP can go fuck itself).

Well, as with many other places, there was some worthless protest against Trump here in Vancouver. I was some tempted to go down there with a megaphone and shout "He's not our president because this is Canada and we don't have a president, assholes!"

Seriously, where were these concerned nitwits when Stephen Harper was Stalinizing Canada?
For that matter, where were/are they while Christy Clark's crime cyndicate has been running BC into the ground ?

They fret about Trump-style politics coming here, but they reinforce that problem by acting like US politics is the top priority here in Canada.

Fuck anything Republican or Democrat - keep that shit below the 49th where it belongs! :pissed:

O'Leary wasn't there, because even though he's from Montreal, he can't speak French.

Also he's become a Bostonian & Bruins fan, which should endear him to Quebec even more.

Never underestimate the urge of "Canadian" Conservatives to copy whatever is going on in the United States.

If ever the term "Cuckservatives" applied accurately to anyone, it's them.

:shoot:

The reason you don't hear about Canadian politics all that much down there is that we're not batshit insane like you lot. No offense. :)

Absolutely. Canada is always a good 3-4 years behind the curve.

You have no idea how much I hope you're right.

I joined the Conservative Party this weekend just so I can vote against that balding fuck when the convention rolls around.

I'm not sure if anybody else actually pays dues and belongs to a political party, but I get a kick out of being one of the furthest left leaning people I know and being a card carrying Conservative now

Fuck this system. There's no way in hell your Conservative party leadership vote should be equal value to mine.

What makes you like him better than the other folks with their name in the hat for the PC leadership like Ambrose or Leitch, for instance?

I got called a racist because I said that I think Kelly Leitch would be a good leader.

Speaking of leaders, when the hell is the NDP going to replace beardo? In fact, it's his fault that Justin's party won the last election. Stephen Harper lost support (as everyone expected he would), but nobody predicted the NDP completely cratering the way they did. it was proof that their surprising surge in popularity was all due to Jack Layton.

I think she's a thundercunt, but liking her sure as fuck doesn't make you a racist. Some people, man

I have no clue who the NDP will replace Mulcair with, but I hope to hell it's somebody better. I like Mulcair better than Justin or Harper, but that's a pretty fucking low bar to surprass for me. I agree fully about Layton being the cause for their surge. Typical of the NDP, they laid back when Jack died rather than forcing ahead. They tiptoe around everything so much that they will never get anywhere in an election. Too bad, too. I generally like their politics better than the two political parties we have in Canada.

If Layton survived his bout of cancer he would be the Prime Minister right now.

Thank god - Donald Trump just OK'd the Keystone XL pipeline.

Once this is up and running, Western Canada won't have to sell its oil at a $5 per barrel discount anymore. All of Canada will profit from this.
