Best thing the Dems have done in quite awhile. When Moore gets elected and the turmoil happens the Dems will be in a good place with equity.

my dream would be that moore being elected and seated will cause some female republican senators to leave the party. definitely won't happen but it would be god damn sweet.

Jesus fucking christ that didn't take long at all.

Quote:
House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Wednesday said House Republicans will aim to cut spending on Medicare, Medicaid and welfare programs next year as a way to trim the federal deficit.

“We’re going to have to get back next year at entitlement reform, which is how you tackle the debt and the deficit,” Ryan said during an interview on Ross Kaminsky's talk radio show.

When the US does it (regardless of party or president), it's elected officials and their departments doing it for foreign policy reasons and to maintain a global hegemony.

Do Americans pick and choose leaders and use those leaders as a proxy for their position? Yes.

Has it ever happened in the US before, where a candidate was potentially guided or supported by a foreign nation? Not to my knowledge.

And the other difference is, the US isn't a South American or African country, it's the largest military power, economic power and leaders in countless other areas with interests and troops that span the globe. The implications of foreign interference dwarf any similar interference in say Colombia or Syria or Yemen etc.

I'm going to disagree on this stuff.

- Doing such actions to maintain their global hegemony is not a plus in the argument; it's a minus. It also ignores the fact that if Russia did do it, it did so to ward off the United States' efforts to inflict that hegemony upon it. That's right - an action taken to divert or undo the actions of an aggressor that openly wishes to do Russia harm. (Do I really need to make a list of all the red lines the US crossed after the Cold War ended, with regard to Russia's sovereignty and security? Do I really need to refresh everyone on the PNAC's influence, and doctrine of permanent global domination?) Hegemony is not a justification for interference, it is the cause of all this intrigue and strife.

- As to whether it has happened before, the answer is clear and obvious. Netanyahu controlling US policy overtly; his agents (AIPAC) demanding that every presidential candidate bend the knee and openly threatening the careers of any politician that does not give them what they want. Interfering in elections to sink any candidate that casts doubt on their ambitions? It has already happened, over many elections. The argument that working through domestic actors (lobbyists like AIPAC, donors like Adelson) insulates this influence from breaking the law is just semantics - legalistic trickery - when the real issue is whether the United States can be influenced to take actions that benefit a foreign power but are contrary to its own strategic interests. This week's announcement clearly shows that it not only can happen, but this is the norm.

- Does the size of the country matter in terms of its right to control its own future? It's like saying that the smaller a country is, the more it deserves to be interfered with; the larger and more powerful a country is, the less right anyone else has to mess with it. The implications, the effects on the world, may be less apparent when it's a small country, but it's no less important to the people who live there. It may be a de facto reality that when the US or some other great power chooses to interfere, a smaller power may simply be unable to defend itself, and the other powers are more reluctant to defend its sovereignty, therefore the larger power can get away with it. However, that ability of a great power to get away with it does not make it right in terms or law or sovereignty or ethics. So if other powers have the ability to fuck with each other, and choose to do so, does this not lead to an anarchic state of international affairs - one where no boundaries are ever respected, and all outrage is simply an empty show of self-serving sour grapes?
The US is not sacred and infallible just because - up until now - nobody has had the audacity to do to them what they are always doing to others. Someone had the audacity to give them a taste of their own medicine? I do not mourn that, I cheer it.

And for that reason, I say this Russia controversy is hogwash. Either it is not true, and the US is using anti-Russian scapegoating to avoid facing the shittiness of its own political system, or it is true, and Russia was still justified in nudging their shitty political system to reach its shittiest possible outcome.

Of course not. But that obviously goes both ways.

People are on Trump not because Russia meddled or didn't meddle. There's no direct proof of Russian government involvement anyway. And there never will be.

National Intelligence suggests otherwise.

Trump's getting shit because he's been openly saying he likes the Russians and that he wants cooperation with them, which undermines the deep state agenda of weakening and dismantling Russian power. That's why my question, despite what you just said, is still very much relevant and at the core of all this.

Trump doesn't acknowledge what National Intelligence and the U.S. Intelligence Community found are factual. "Fake news," if you may.

If Trump wanted to be friends with Russia, I'm fine with that. However, he's ignoring the elephant in the room, presumably, on purpose.

today's gop mission: discredit and smear the fbi as much as humanly possible so that 'fake news' will continue to work as the indictments move upward. dangerous game.

and as much as republicans beat their chests and rant about 'welfare and entitlement reform', they'll never do it due to who, and where the largest recipients live. hint: not the coasts.

Majority of welfare recipients are in the poorest states and those always vote red.

All we need to do to cut debt is to cut military spending. We spend an obscene amount of money on defense, more than pretty much all the developed world combined. I think we could close a base here and there and actually gain some favor with the rest of the world at the same time. Instead of you know, having our flag waving in other people's backyards and our soldiers frequenting the local brothels.

It was pretty hilarious and fucking sad to hear the cheers in the crowds at Trump's campaign stops before the election as he kept saying we need to build up our "depleted" military. Depleted? How can a military that has hundreds of billions spent on it every year be depleted? Stretched thin? Yeah, so close some of that bullshit down.

republican congressman trent franks also announced he's resigning after news came to light that he'd asked women who worked for him if they would have his children as a surrogate.

supposedly the washington post is working on stories of anywhere from 20-30 additional members of the house of representatives facing sexual misconduct allegations.

Hang them all if guilty. Save money by using the same noose/gallows setup.

I agree. The top starts with elites like the Rothschild family and the House of Saud. Rapists and pedophiles.
