Own all his solo material and like them all (to varying degrees). That said these three are probably his bottom three for me. Just curious :? 8)

Probably my bottom three as well. Not sure why dio was wanting a migica trio of albums. Thst albums is a stinker.
Master of the moon is the best of this lot. A bit to slow overall for me but still listenable.

Gun to my head I guess I would go with Magica. But these are three albums I never need to hear again.

I love Dio's music, and I have never been able to get into Angry Machines (or "Mad Robots," as my old friend Manute used to call it).

Magica was an improvement. Several good songs, and great cover art.

Master of the Moon is the best of the three. More great cover art, and a bunch of decent songs that often have a Sabbathy-doomy feel.

I'm glad Dio went out on a stronger note with Heaven & Hell :m:

Same here. Really boring and bland era of Dio. Angry Machines is hot garbage.

No idea why Ronnie kept insisting on making these slow, plodding albums, like he was trying to prove he could out-doom Sabbath or something. A few songs like that here and there like Shame On The Night worked well, but not whole albums. That’s why Killing The Dragon is so beloved, cause it had pacing and variety like classic Dio did.

I've only heard Angry Machines out of those so I can't vote, but I sure hope it's the worst of the bunch

Angry Machines is vastly underrated, IMO. but Master of the Moon is the strongest of these three.

Magica is his weakest effort.

1) Master of the Moon
2) Angry Machines
3) Magica

Magica is great, classic Dio without the drudgery that ruins Master of the Moon. Angry Machines is great but it doesn't have the hooks of Magica and Strange Highways is the essential Tracy album.

I enjoy Master of the Moon a lot, big Craig Goldy fan.

Magica is ok, a bit hit or miss. Angry Machines is the only Dio album I don't care that much for, I think it lacks all the things that make Dio great.

Which poster here said he saw Iron Maiden and Dio play together when they were promoting 'Virtual XI' and 'Angry Machines'? WhPlague, maybe?

What a show that must've been.

Gross. I saw Maiden, Dio and Motorhead together after Bruce came back. That was killer, this one here sounds awful.

Master of the Moon is awesome. If you're a fan of Dio, I don't know how you couldn't like this album.

Poorly attended.

About 3000 people in a shitty tennis stadium

Master of the Moooooooooon is a satisfying dooooooooooom work.
Angry Machines is dour unpleasant sourness that never should have been recorded.
If Magika had shown up 15-18 years earlier it would have been more interesting and better overall. Perhaps instead of Dream Evil?

Honestly, not as bad as you would think. Mostly because of Dio.

He really stole the show that night. Not one Angry Machines song in sight, the most recent thing he did was Evilution. The rest was from Holy Diver/Last in Line/Heaven and Hell. I remember it was raining during his set and when it stopped a rainbow appeared and then he played 'Rainbow in the Dark' and everyone lost their shit. I wish he would have headlined.

As for Maiden, well, Blaze had a good stage presence and defended his songs just fine, but something wasn't quite right when he sang on the classics. Everyone started to miss Bruce simultaneously.

Yes, that was me.

Dio was promoting Angry Machines, but played NO song off it.
Only classics

Blaze sucked (in his defense he was MUCH better on the X-Factor tour)

Yep, I remember it too

I also remember that the mini stadium back them was called "Stade Du Maurier", a cigarette brand
