I didn't even realize until I put it on tonight and looked at the date on MA. 9 days from now. I bought this the day it came out. It's not my favorite Carcass but it still fucking rules.

It's my favorite Carcass album. I've had it since around the time of its release too. I've probably listened to it more than almost all of my other metal CDs. :m:

True. It's an excellent album.

Necroticism is a close second favorite though.

No, it's just a bad direction the band took. Their early Grind phase is just better.

It's all a matter of taste. I love their grind era, but I liked them more and more as they progressed in the melodic direction that culminated in Heartwork. Swansong was the step too far in my opinion.

This isn't that bad. I'm still kinda turned away by the vocals, but the music is solid.

It’s almost as good as Swansong

The band was no longer "Carcass" by this time..Symphonies Of Sickness is definitely their peak!

Great record. One of the only melodic death metal albums that aged well with me.

This is so far from true it's not even funny...

Descanting the Insalubrious is better than this and symphonies is phenomenal too. Even the latest one isn't terrible. Swansong is fairly mediocre I'll give you that, but put some respect on the name

Not an album for me. There was a thread about it a little while ago (or a Carcass thread) and I decided to listen to it for the first time in a while. Didn't make it through it. Not for me. Down with everything before this though.
