What are Jari's “kimono duties“? Haven't kept up with them after the debut. Does it have anything to do with the vaguely Asian sounding influences I thought to have heard on some post-debut songs?

I assume it's a fancy way of saying "women's work" :)

I just wish he could have made one album that's only half as good as or at least similar to the debut....

That Asian sounding stuff I heard was so terrible and completely didn't fit the band at all. I'm pretty sure Jari himself has absolutely no clue what made the debut so great and why it was so popular. He took all the wrong elements and expanded on them. I have rarely seen a band with such a disappointing discography, right after the debut...

The debut is not an Enemy of Metal© because I like it! I think Kai Hahtos drumming on it is spectacular, as well as the right hand work of the guitars, plus great songwriting and melodies. It's great for what it is, and most of all (and also unfortunately), it's completely unique.

Yeah, the guy has made quite the career. I knew him as the drummer for Rotten Sound, then Wintersun, then Swallow the Sun, didn't he also play with fucking Nightwish for a while? I guess he has to pay the bills as well....
