Priest/Purple was decent. One song into Priest's set and I was told to sit down by fat Mississippi fucks behind me. Luckily most of the arena was empty so I just meandered around until I found a nice seat where I wasn't blocking any fat fuck's view. The crowd spent the entire time on their asses. Sad. Had to leave midway through DP because it's a 1.5hr drive back to NOLA and I have to wake up for work at 4am.

Abigail is on Sunday night. I probably won't go. Tough to miss, but not mandatory for me. Trying to avoid shows until Quebec Deathfest. Not like I go to as many anymore anyway.

Might change my mind though, we'll see.

Gonna be a bit annoyed if I don't go but I'm trying to be a bit more fiscally cautious leading up to QDF. I like them, but they are on the cusp of mandatory. I should probably go.

Saw Steel Panther tonight. Fun show from them as usual. They covered I Wanna Be Sedated and Marky Ramone came out and played the drums. They played Crazy Train with Michael Starr doing an impression of Ozzy that was pretty damn funny.

I’m supposed to see Grim Reaper tomorrow night but I’m probably going to skip it. I don’t have much interest without Leather Leone as the opener. I hate eating the $35 I paid for the ticket but that’s life.

Went to :

Mustasch - I went with a couple friends last Friday & had a great time and spoke with the band and bought them some shots .
The main dude from Mustasch gave me his guitar pick at the end of their set.
Only about 10 people went to the show, but we were loud as fuck.
The opening band from Alabama was real good as well.

Wintersun - Good show last night \m/

And for upcoming concerts:

Journey / Def Leppard - The first concert my wife is going to in a few years , so I got us 2 great seats.

Paradise Lost - Will be great to see PL for my first time

Unleash The Archers / Striker - Two fantastic Western Canadian bands & are playing 2 days before the Paradise Lost show.

Simple Minds - I did not find out about this show till after it had sold out, hopefully I can get a ticket as we get closer to the date.

Danko Jones & Nashville Pussy - only $13 , I would pay that much for NP alone , and will be cool to see Danko for the first time (not too familiar with their stuff however )

Stryper - One of my friends is a huge fan, so I may end up going to Seattle with him for this show , will decide closer to the date .

Gonna get to see Castle on Monday playing with a couple of local bands. Should be a great night. I love it when a touring band plays Fredericton....and for the third time. Joy!!

I posted the Mournful Congregation album here instead of the now playing thread. Wish I was seeing them now, but I am only listening to their album.

Post Re: Now Seeing - Live! Street FIghter II Turbo Edition
Glad I opted to head to the free Baroness show last night-- was at the "Jam Room Music Festival" in downtown Columbia, SC, a daylong event set between two stages on two blocks and organized by the Jam Room recording studio (where Baroness recorded "Red Album" in 2007).

I hadn't seen them in 3 years and was worried about the departure of Pete Adams, not so much due to his playing but because Baroness' vocal harmonies are a major draw for me. Newcomer Gina Gleason was more than adequate, and I really couldn't tell much of a difference (playing and singing) from the previous times I'd seen them so my anticipation of a new album was strengthened.

Kind of odd, but very awesome to see them on a small outdoor stage with some Baroness fans mingling with random music fan and Gamecock students. The show was a one-off for the band, and Baizley commented that he wasn't going to speak too much so they could rip through their set, presumably before curfew. Thankfully a lot of the mellow added live intros and interludes remained, as those have become of favorite part of Baroness live. Not surprisingly, the set was primarily from Purple and Yellow & Green.

Kerosene
March to the Sea
Morningstar
Green Theme
Little Things
Shock Me
If I Have to Wake Up (Will You Stop the Rain?)
Fugue
Desperation Burns
Eula
Board Up the House
Chlorine and Wine
The Gnashing
Take My Bones Away
Isak

Saw Night Ranger / Gin Blossoms / Foreigner on Saturday night. We (my classic rock station job) introduced Night Ranger.

Good show. Gin Blossoms were miserable.

Just got back from seeing Castle....great as always. I respect folks that want to hit multiple venues here in Atlantic Canada and give it their all. Was encouraged that they had twice the crowd than they did 2 years ago.....hoping for a better future.
