Never heard em. I think I remember you mentioning them as a strange band or something.

Well, the album I linked above came out last year, and I thought it had all kinds of BM mindfuckery.
Could be one hell of a show.

Bolzer: riffs as great as the clean vocals are terrible.

Immortal getting rid of Abbath is the best decision they've ever made. They actually don't sound like a joke now! I didn't realize just how much that clown dragged Immortal down until I heard their new record, but goddamn... what a reinvention. Good riddance to crab-walking rubbish.

...that Blashyrkh schtick is still lame as fuck, though.

Immortal has always been about Demonaz riffs, then he got tendonitis then Abbath took over and went down the path of gheyness, this has been corrected now thanfully

No frog vocals, no crab walking ridiculousness... If they lose that Blashyrkh LOTR-fantasy type bullshit, they'll be all set.

I have to agree with Exorcist here. I love those first 3 Bolzer releases big time but on those the clean vocals are used in extreme moderation. Also, that set full of all that material at WoM was one of the best live sets I've ever seen!

But on Hero, those vocals really hurt the record for me. It's just wayyyy to much.

Do you expect anything less from Mr slipknot himself?

He would probably like if better if Ice-T rapped the clean vocals.

You can't sit there with a straight face and tell me that Bolzer-guy could carry a tune in a bucket.

Often times it is more about the right fit than being able to carry a tune. Would it sound better if Dio did the cleans? Pretty sure that it wouldn't, because it wouldn't fit. I don't really care one lick about those cleans, and would prefer if most of them were death vocals instead, but if they are going to be there they can't be perfectly manicured and still allow Bolzer to be Bolzer. Reminds me that I never actually got a copy of that album, and had better get on it. Can't tell me that you didn't laugh when you thought about Ice-T rapping them though, I know I did when I thought of it. :)

Goddamn right I laughed

Look, I'm not saying that Bolzer aren't awesome. Bolzer kicks ass. I'm just saying that the clean vocals are the weak link.

I'm revisiting every 80's heavy metal/thrash album I own and it feels like it's taking forever. I have found some good bands/albums I overlooked years back like Gravestone. Quick Change is every bit as bad as I remember and I'm still blown away anyone can be a fan of SDI. Garbage.

The more I spin it, the more I think the new Riot is the best thing they’ve done since Inishmore
