Anyone have thoughts/opinions on Alien Weaponry, who are 3 teens from New Zealand? Good? Bad? Meh? No comment... Guitarist and Drummer are brothers...16 and 18.

Here is "Kai Tangata."

https://youtu.be/5kwIkF6LFDc

Besides English, the band speaks Maori, which is the other national language of New Zealand.

Sounds like Roots era Sepultura if Max had a decent singing voice and spoke a Brazilian tribal language....can't say I'm a fan, but they are young and have room to grow.

I was impressed with the production quality of the video. I could be wrong, but that did not look like a cheap video to make. Were those actual Maori tribe members, or actors? I haven't looked it up.

But it looks like money is being put into these teens.

Yes, they are young and raw, so the song writing skills have nowhere to go but up.

Once you get past the novelty of the vocals sung in a foreign language, the music is pretty basic nu metal sounding (the Roots comparison is on point.)

Gates and Temples removed from all iTunes/iPod Necros Christos. Don't think I've ever enjoyed this much. I don't think this band needs so many goddamn interludes. A few would be fine. I left the first and last on each album. I actually think I'll go back and add one, maybe even two more around the middle of each album.

Great band. Totes turbs.

Holy smokes I'm starting to compile a list for 2018 and it is heavy, heavy on the black metal. Most years though I have to request some death metal recommendations. Right now Tomb Mold and Necros Christos are definite contenders.

This new Angantyr is high fucking end as always. It's worthy of a placement based on the second track, Visdoms virke alone.

I remember 4 years ago and people were saying they fell off 4 years before that.

Doesn't matter, love me some 'Ton. Moderate like for Powerwolf though the new album is great.

Yeah, I love Sabaton too.

And Joakim is great with the kids. Bringing them onstage and giving them little gifts. That's good enough for me. He gives back.

Per my tastes, Jason Becker is the greatest guitarist to ever live.

I'm just sitting here listening to Blue thinking like... two. fucking. chords. He achieved that with two goddamn chords.

For the curious.

Seems like they’re too busy playing Celtic Frost songs.

autothrall gave the new Amorphis a 92. That's pretty high praise from a guy that routinely ranks albums that he seems to like quite a bit in the 70's. I pretty much agree with him, this is a killer album. Never expected them to do something this good again, and I really like several of the modern era albums.
