Quote:
Dolores O'Riordan dead: The Cranberries lead singer dies aged 46

Dolores O'Riordan, frontwoman of The Cranberries, has died, according to reports. She was aged 46.

"Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today," a spokesperson for the singer told The Limerick Leader.

"She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time."

The cause of death has not been revealed publicly.

O'Riordan was best known for fronting the Irish band The Cranberries, joining brothers Noel Hogan and Mike Hogan after reading an advertisement in a local paper in 1989.

They went on to sell over 40 million records around the world, O'Riordan later releasing the solo records Are You Listening? in 2007 and No Baggage in 2009.

Sad. :(

Fuck. I am absolutely floored by this. Those first 3 albums are mandatory. Essential. I'm at a loss for words here. Daffodils lament forever.

I can't say I ever got into the Cranberries, but she had a hell of a strong voice. Crazy to see she died so young :o

She definitely had health issues in the last year or two.kept seeing tours/appearances that would get postponed out outright cancelled, terrible that she didn’t overcome it.

Was she into any of the usual substances that artists tend to fall in with? She didn't seem like the type to me, so this one just puzzles me. 46, man. Fuck.

Not serious Rook, perfect timing BTW. Seriously devastated though.

Don’t know, but she didn’t seem like the type. Even during the band’s heyday you didn’t hear about substance abuse like other bands from that era.

It was back issues. Maybe she got addicted to the pills.

Sad news. No Need to Argue is my favourite album but Bury the Hatchet and Roses are very good too. My favourite song is “21”.
