Månegarm posted this message over the weekend:

Thank you all for a great 2017!

Now we’re looking forward to another great year with lots of nice events; a scandinavian tour i February, Thorhammerfest in Brazil in May, Hellfest in June, just to name some of the cool stuff. A vinyl-box will also be out closer to the summer and in late 2018 you can look forward to a brand new Manegarm album.
See you in 2018 brothers & sisters and we wish you all a great new years eve.

Definitely interested in that Trespass reunion album - one of the NWOBHM greats.
Also Forefather's new one.

Hoping this will be the year for new releases from these:

Absu
Craft
Feral
Ares Kingdom

Accu§er has a new album coming out within the next few weeks; no way I'm not getting it. Deeds of Flesh and Gruesome are working on new material as well.

So far I've heard:

AbigorHöllenzwang (Chronicles of Perdition)
Watain - Trident Wolf Eclipse

From what I've read (and this may be a rumor), the Abigor album leak is not the final master. I like it, though, and there are some thrashier parts in some of the songs. They've never released an album that sounds like anything else in their discography, but it's always still recognizably Abigor. Silenius returns as the vocalist, and this is rumored to be their final album.

The Watain album surprised me. With the exception of Rabid Death's Curse and The Wild Hunt, they've been a bit of a hit-or-miss band for me where their songs are concerned. Trident Wolf Eclipse sounds like it draws inspiration from their early years, and probably could have been their sophomore effort (I've only listened to it once, though, and my opinion could change, of course).

Visigoth- Conqueror's Oath due out Feb 9th. The Revenant King was one of my faves from 2015 and I fully expect this album to rule.

I read somewhere that the band re-recorded a bunch of it - supposedly the songs are shorter & faster than the tracks on Abzu.

If that means it resembles "Casus Luciferi" I better give it a listen. That's the last one with any real staying power.

I've found the records since Sworn to the Dark to be really hit or miss (but when they hit, boy howdy do they ever hit hard!), but I'll be buying Trident Wolf Eclipse on Friday for sure. That Nuclear Alchemy tune that they shot a video for is pretty decent!

Actually, I think it reminds me more of Rabid Death's Curse with better production. Not a copy of their debut, but the rage and atmosphere certainly hark back to that album to my ears.
