This comes out on Iron Bonehead later this year. It's blackened death metal with a lot of atmosphere. Probably sits on the same shelf as Teitanblood and Necros Christos, but dosn't remind me exactly of either band.

This is good shit..

That's just obnoxious

What fucking producer allowed that jackass idea to get put to tape?

There albums have always been that way. But the stuff in between the interludes is killer. I bought Doom of the Occult when it came out on vinyl, and man... look at this lol.

Lol. Some of the interludes are really good and worthy for sure. They add to the atmosphere Anhur speaks of, but it's just too damn many.

It's because the new one is actually 9 songs. Thing is, each song has a intro and an outro (so 18 interludes). It's a conceptual choice and it's on 3 CDs or 3 LPs with 3 metal songs each. Where this gets ludicrous is when you have to get through an outro and an intro back to back. Same problem with Doom of the Occult but they seemed shorter on that one.

I think it's better to see it as a collection of 3 EPs conceptually linked. The only time I've listened to it all in one sitting was at work with headphones. So just put one disc at a time.

I really like the album, productions is massive, the metal songs are great - it is their most heavy metal album and the solos are cool as usual - but at one point, with the abundance of ambient tracks, the album has a whole feels a bit like a parody of themselves.

I usually skip the interludes on this one.

Totally agree with what's in green. It's how I've been approaching it. Even at work with headphones. :)

Been strongly considering this since the first album but still haven't gotten around to it. Might do so tonight as I want to do some removing of music from iTunes in the coming days/weeks.

Regardless, looking forward to seeing these guys live. They indeed are monstrous so I only imagine it translates well. And I expect very few of the interludes lol.

I've heard they're great live. I love the shit out of their albums when I can skip past the filler.

Their most recent set last month had not a single Gate or Temple.

Going back, it seems much the same. Just an album thing. I'm removing them shortly from my iTunes. It's too bad because some are good but I can't remember which ones lol. I'm going to leave the intro and outro ones.

Horrendous - Idol

New Track: "Soothsayer"

I dug The Chills and Ecdysis. Anareta was good, but a slight step down from the previous album. Looking forward to this one, for sure.

That cover is as close to a Fields cover as I can take. Haven't been into anything after Chills. Vicious live band, see them and you'll be stoked.

I'm only listening to the first time and I'm very impressed. Definitely a lot here people should really enjoy. I'd put it higher than last year's album for sure. Definitely orthodox in sound at times. but so much more than just traditional black metal. Really a great album that gets better as it goes along, which is something I personally always like, and how I feel albums should be. Peak towards the end.

One of the highlight tracks fora smaller sample, The Old Tree and the Wise Man:

New track released. Sounds fucking great.

The usual suspects should be into this. You know who you are...

Listening now so since it's been many months I'm going to pump the tits of this again. A+ as always with Angantyr.

There'll be at least five copies in the used bin about an hour after it's released too.
