You better be sorry!

Lotta Sea Lice is one of the greatest albums of recent years. Possibly another of the 21st century. :)

Googy is growing on me

But when people say "sorry, not sorry" all I hear is "I'm a condescending, obnoxious twat", no foolin'

Can't wait for the new Graveyard record. Some songs have already been leaked on Youtube and I totally love them.

Warren Zevon - Lawyers, Guns and Money

Yay or nay?

For me yay. I wished someone really hard rocking would cover this song...

This would've been a super song for Motörhead to cover. Lyrics and style would fit.

Marisa Anderson - Cloud Corner (Thrill Jockey)

Marisa Anderson is a Portland guitarist and one of the most interesting American primitivism/Americana musician out there today (imo). It's much more American primitivism than Americana though, so don't expect some Calexico shit or something. It's just Marisa and her guitar, with lots of country/blues fingerpicking and some subtle layers here and there and it's perfect that way.

Her new album just came out today and I think it may be her best yet. If you're into that kind of stuff, then I recommend you give it a try. Her previous album, Into the Light, is great as well.

Thanks, Feast. That sounds like something I wanna hear.

Just found a band on YouTube, plying around whilst I were high and drunk, after a great day two of the World Cup.

They're called Rolling Backouts Coastal Fever. Like a lesser version of all the post-Factory bands, 15 years after that. Like, post-Madchester britpop. You know Maximo Park? No? Not really surprised. They kinda sounded like this.

Anyway, "Talking Straight"

Forgive me, Full Metal Jackie, for I have sinned and checked out the 1975 on a referral.

They sounded nothing like the year in question. May team lead Sumayeh who recommended that godawful band never ever covet your job.

Yeah I've heard their French Press EP from last year and liked it but had completely forgotten about them  From what I remember it was pretty good jangle pop à la Go-Betweens but with a modern twist. Didn't know they had released a full EP since then. I'll check it out, thanks mister slippery

Apparently they found an old lost John Coltrane album! It'll be out at the end of the month and I'm looking forward to hearing it. This is insane

Great news!

A cheap way to get original Coltrane records (what i did) is to get the 2 boxsets with 5 albums each. About 10-15 bucks on Amazon

Next thing i'll get is the serie Miles AND Coltrane but i think there is 7 or 8 volumes

I don't like those boxsets, they seem cheap and it' only the CDs in a cardboard envelope. The Impulse! reissues aren't expensive either and feature a booklet with liner notes and all that. The same goes for Miles, the Columbia reissues are just fine for me.
I did buy one of those boxsets with 5 classics by The Mahavishnu Orchestra...

The lost Coltrane album features the classic lineup btw, McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones and Jimmy Garrison, recorded before A Love Supreme at Van Gelder! :o

Saw the Coltrane news and I'll definitely give it a try, but I always keep my hopes in check when it comes to so-called "lost albums". Sometimes it works, sometimes it's just a gimmick. We'll see.

I just saw an Apple commercial that used the song The Story of an Artist by Daniel Johnston. Pretty cool.
