After having the requisite classic rock radio songs beat into my head since childhood, Jimi Hendrix is suddenly interesting to me. I should really get around to buying Are You Experienced? at some point soon.

Experienced, Axis, and Ladyland are all mandatory dude... there are so many great tunes on all of those albums you've never heard on the radio.

Axis is the most important album of my life... but these days I like Ladyland the best. Or at least usually put that on first.

Burning of the Midnight Lamp!

Sidenote... my dad was buddies with the Experience and his band almost toured Europe opening for them but a band member fell ill and it didn't happen. They broke up not long after.

Thanks, dudes :m:

I just had one of those "a-ha! NOW I fucking get it!" moments not too long ago when it comes to Hendrix, so I'm gonna start going back through his stuff next time I buy some music for sure.

You like weed to much to not dig it I'd say. A lot of it is psyched out to shit though... at least on two of the three Experience albums (Experiences and Ladyland).

Well sign me the fuck up right now, son! :m:

I blame my late coming on Wayne's World. It was inescapable when I was a kid, and I heard Foxy Lady enough times to murder any interest I could have had in Hendrix. Fucking radio and music video channels (when those were a thing) ruined so much great music.

I thought Alice Cooper was dumb as fuck forever because of Wayne's World. And then I heard Love it to Death.

Overexposure is the worst. "Hey! We found something that's not the usual mediocre bullshit that we love to shovel. BEAT IT LIKE A DEAD HORSE, BOYS!"

Go get your hands on Band of Gypsies. Blasphomet's 3 picks are utterly fantastic, but BOG just destroys me. Machine Gun shows how versatile the guitar can be, while Them Changes just groooooooves.

It's a shame Ken isn't posting here anymore. I'm listening to his stuff on the Bandcamp page and I can't tell him how much I like it
