I think for some reason Yanni is way more successful in North America than in Europe, so I never got to see him. I bet he even toured here, but it just wasn't on my radar. Not sure I'd pay for surely expensive tickets. I also think he shouldn't have cut his hair or gotten rid of his mustache.
I do enjoy his music however!

Outside of NA I think his popularity varies greatly for whatever reason. There are some places he goes to where he's met on the tarmac by mayors or government officials and screaming fans, has a televised press conference, does hours of autographs, etc. Probably smaller countries to be sure. :) if you can track it down (it didn't sell well enough to be released in paperback) you should read his memoir. He doesn't have some Nikki Sixx story or anything but he talks a lot about all the bullshit they had to go through to have the concerts at the Acropolis, the Taj Mahal, Forbidden City, and all of those places he played at. That was really interesting at least.

Also have an album (or two) by him. One is even a bit "progressive" I think, where he collaborates with an organ player of all things. I'll have to look into my vault.

On Yanni: I'll see if I can find that book. I'd much rather read a book by fucking Yanni than Nikki Sixx. I bet he is treated like a demi-god in China, like Kenny G. You know what? Yanni, Kenny G and Gheorghe Zamfir should collaborate on some Ethno-Ambient hypno-beat album!

Sometimes I like Joe Satriani. Like in this video:

We have two living legends in Quebec : Plume Latraverse and Robert Charlebois.

Only metal is true. Everyone who isn't into metal, file into the appropriate bins, which definitely won't be fed into a giant shredder at the end of business today.

St. Vincent. Anyone listen to this woman? I've heard lots about her the past few years but haven't heard her. I see her 2017 record is on a ton of lists in the top 10 though.

I've tried a song here and there, and nothing has ever grabbed me. In fact, I think I found it annoying. Maybe I'll give it another shot again sometime soon.

Yeah I've only tried her 2014 s/t and there's a couple of tracks that I enjoy (Birth in reverse, Severed Crossed Fingers, etc.) but all in all it didn't do much for me. I will probably try her earlier albums ('Actor' and 'Strange Mercy') at one point, but I'm not in a hurry.

Yep. Own all the records, seen her live. She's great.

Glen Frey - You Belong to the CIty

Reminds me of this cougar I had no business with. She loved shit like this. Ended up staying with the guy she was already with.

In the early Rush albums, the last track is always the best track.
