Some of the cringiest music I've heard in a while. This could only appeal to dads and boat shoes/button down shirt wearing people....

Vocals are horrible.

I believe it was Rocky D who gave me a heads up about this last year but I forgot about it. I was reminded again recently for some reason though (youtube probably) and am checking it out and I love it.

The posters I know are into the post-punk/new wave 80's shit or Death in June or even new shit like Black Magick SS, they should dig this. Gloomy stuff.

You might even be into it if you like Ghost.

"Highway Tune" is infectiously catchy.

Post Re: The Random Music Thread - fālsëpøsê
It has been a good day at the office because everyone has left me the fuck alone and I've been able to listen to music all day so far.

That's one good thing about a summer with the Jays sucking shit. I listen to far less sports talk and far more music at the office. I've been really really into metal lately. I mean I love metal obviously, but as you know a lot of other stuff too, but all I've wanted to listen to lately is metal for the most part with a few exceptions or while up north and such.

Unless it's a proper Faces reunion with Jeff Beck and Ronnie Wood....meh.

The Kinks' reunion sounds more promising instead.

And yeah Rope Sect are great. Great find from Rocky, I've been following Caligari ever since. Iron Bonehead released it on vinyl last year but it's probably sold out already.

I totally get it. You are either going to immediately love them or they are going to get on your nerves with that high pitched falsetto type voice.

Yeah I peruse Caligari every so often. I think the vinyl is probably sold out but it's not expensive to pick up on discogs. Considering it. Or maybe I'll grab the tape instead from discogs. Still waiting on my friend to make me this cassette shelf. If it doesn't happen soon I'm going to start looking elsewhere again.

I echo the Rope Sect comment but at this point I just sound like a loser hopping on the bandwagon :)

Caligari used to be a place to find hidden gems (distributed stuff mostly) but there's also a lot a gazillion of B-grade death black and doom crap.

Definitely  But since they had the flair to sign RS, I'm always keeping an eye on them.

Better to have a band that sounds like that get exposure than something that sounds like Maroon 5 or Luke Bryan.

Still debating whether or not to go see Willie Nelson and Sturgill Simpson. It's at the amphitheatre, which I hate.

Catch it in Buffalo or another border town where the venue doesn't fucking suck :)

That Rope Sect tape was the best recommendation from this board in years. Great stuff.

I've been meaning to listen again, but sadly my player is currently dominated by GBK, EW and Beastmilk .

Neil Young is playing the fest in Saratoga Springs, but I can't convince anyone to do a road trip, and the venue is much the same, and far more expensive.
