Post New Gruesome music video released
Two things I am stoked for within the next few weeks:

Seeing Slayer live for the final time, and the new Gruesome album.

As expected, this is just simply awesome! :m:

Band has always sucked and will continue to suck forever more.

I like how there's cars ripping down the freeway in a lot of those shots. If you want to achieve what you want to achieve Gruesome, you have to get a better bass player.

Such a blatant Human ripoff. These guys are what The County Medical Examiners are to Carcass. Still pretty cool but I'd never listen to it more than a few times.

I dig it - if you're going to tribute a great band, why not do it with new songs? I'd rather hear this than a cover version of "Vacant Planets".

It's not that hard to understand the difference between "rip-off" and "tribute", guys.

Saying this as someone who's not passionate at all about this band...

Coming up next:

"Why don't they play their own shit?"

The song is ok, but as I have said before this era of death is too specific for me to enjoy someone else trying to sound exactly like it. It dosn't bother me, and I don't have a problem with them since they clearly state their intent. I just don't enjoy it, and all that it does is make me want to Listen to Human or ITP. Lets face it, if that tune were actually on a Death album it would be that album's weakest cut.

Gruesome is an ok band but for the original I will reach
Don’t try to emulate a classic band when you’re not as good is a lesson it shall teach

Is that Chuck enough?

But seriously, I don’t think they’re ripoff artists and more just paying tribute and having fun with it. If anything they make me realize just how unique Death managed to be because I hear it and think this is so distinctly supposed to be Death. Makes you realize just how remarkable they were for achieving their own sound in a genre full of faceless dime a dozen bands.

Song was good, won't buy the album

I'll stick to Savage Land in their case

I will say I have heard much worse bands than this one.

Yeah, I'm not sure why so many are bent out of shape about this - it's not like they're trying to fool anyone into thinking this is original.

Hell, bands have been blatantly ripping off Autopsy & Carcass for years while masquerading as original, and very few get pissy about that.

Cutting room floor or EP material.

I don't dislike the band or anything, just totally indifferent.

Ripping off isn’t the point. They are a tribute band laying original songs. (Like Cannibas Corpse). They aren’t trying to act like a ‘real’ band like Portrait, Attic, Them, etc.....who are just completely ripping off a sound while trying to be ‘real’ bands. Those bands make the Devil cry  :(

Good call. There are even plenty of bands doing that where no one bats an eyelid.

Those other bands sound equally as much like the bands they do as Gruesome does like Death, yet only Gruesome get thrown to the wolves for it, including by the same people praising the other bands for sounding like other bands. Odd how that works out.

Between Gruesome and Exhumed you have to wonder if Matt Harvey has ever had an original musical idea in his lifetime.

Yeah it’s called Noothgrush nut grabber. I’m a Symphonies guy and I would put both Gore Metal and Slaughtercult up against any non Symphonies Carcass album. That’s right I just said that.

I'll take it a step further. From a live perspective. Exhumed around the Slaughtercult, Gore Metal Era w/ Col. Jones, fucking ferocious, would shit all over Carcass. That's right I said that too.

It's because Gruesome sucks and are lame.
