I know squat about the Stooges.

I guess I should hit YouTube.

Great album, but I prefer The Stooges. Less surf, more heroin.

One of the greats, that's for sure.

Same. I tried, but there was just nothing there.

BJ, do they remind you of any other band?

When I hear them, they try to sound like another classic rock band, but "hyper" it up a bit.

Want to see if anyone hears what I am hearing or not.

I hear a little bit of The Who, especially on the intro to Loose, and a little bit of The Doors.

Frickin Bingo!

I don't think it's a little bit. I think it's 2 cups full in a 3 cup recipe.

Ray Manzarek actually tried to start a band with Iggy Pop around 1974 (I think) but he was just too fucked up so it never happened. I think he showed up at rehearsal ultra wasted and completely nude or something. It's not like he didn't experience this before.

Funhouse is a fierce one. There's that sense of urban late night hazy chaos in there. That sense that you don't know where you're going to and the folks outside your window could kill you for no good reason at all.

I never thought about it before, but yeah - that makes sense. I've never been a fan of the Doors either, aside from around half a dozen songs.

I know some will disagree, but "Raw Power" has always been the better album to me.

As much as I worship FUN HOUSE, it's just not as bumper-to-bumper perfect as RAW POWER.

"TV Eye", "Down on the Street", "Loose" "Fun House" & "1970" all rule; but "Dirt" is boring and "L.A. Blues" is a wasted 5 minutes of vinyl.

I prefer the S/T over Fun House but its all a matter of taste really. This trilogy of records should be in any so called rock fan discography.
