Post Now Seeing - The Live Music Thread
Couldn't find the other thread... must have gone past the 5th page...

As is tradition, months go by with basically nothing I care enough to go see, and then boom, within a short period time there is too much. Within a month in March/April there is:

March 10th there is Dinosaur Jr., and the very next night Carpenter Brut.

Then March 25th is Nails/Toxic Holocaust which I will definitely be going to and I'm just about to buy a ticket for because supposedly it's almost sold out. Then a week later is the briefcase show with Gevurah and Sortilegia. Then little over a week after that is The Decibel Tour.

Hard to choose. I likely wouldn't do Dino and Carpenter on back to back nights. And I certainly want to attend all the metal shows which are more spread out.

I am thinking about doing three of the five. Dino, Nails, and Sortilegia.

But, fuck, Carpenter Brut would be cool as fuck too, especially singe Perturbator didn't come through Toronto.

Another thing that is cool is that Dino is on a Friday, the others are all on Saturdays, but Decibel Tour is a Tuesday or something... so Kreator may get the short end of the stick. So even though they are all crammed together, they are on weekends, so it makes it a little easier to go to more, since I don't have to blow vacation days or anything... and vacation days = time + monies in my eyes.

Dino Jr. on March 9th
Uada/Délétère/Neige Éternelle/Sangus/Ossuaire on March 18th
Nails on March 24th
Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. in April
PJ Harvey in April
Desaster/Délétère in May
Nick Cave in May
D.R.I. in July

That's about it for now.

I just saw Mayhem/Inquisition/Black Anvil.

Overkill/Nile coming in Feb.
Metal Blade 35th Anniversary tour (Whitechapel/Cattle Decap/Goatwhore/Allegaeon) is also coming in Feb.

I'm looking forward to the Decibel tour (Kreator/Obituary/Horrendous(?)/Midnight) and Testament in April.

Nails
Iron Maiden

I was going to do Hellfest but I don't think I can justify the cost so I do have to get rid of my ticket. So for the moment, just those two gigs. GNR in Montreal is pretty tempting, though.

Seeing less than Jake on Monday, nails on march 30, Incantation and Marduk on Feb 19. I'd like to hit a couple more but I've got school conflicts on some of them. (Nile and Expire  )

Is that the same Inquisition tour with Mayhem? DIdn't realize it was that long.

They seem to be hinting at a headlining Canadian tour to make up for the missed dates of the tour. I fucking hope that actually comes to fruition. Never know with these guys.

Also, good to see you going to some show! :)

EDIT: I see it's the last date of the tour.

Mayhem isn't playing the show in Spokane. It's on off-day on the tour for them and Inquisition is being fucking rad for playing here. I doubt they'll get much of a turnout here. That's why no one comes anymore. I remember seeing Agalloch play to a crowd of maybe 30-40 people after you subtract the members of the opening bands.

These will be shows 21-25 for me. Not as many as a lot of folks and never enough, but I'm lucky.

I've seen them in -
1996
1999
2000
2003
2006 (2x)
2008 (3x)
2010 (5x)
2012 (3x)
2013
2016 (2x)
