when Darcy says "their self titled" does he mean their demo, EP, or full length?

Probably the first album, because when I was looking for songs from the new one on Youtube, the side bar was full of links to songs with pics of that album cover.

He was gonna finish the sentence but then noticed a tree that hadn't yet been made into a wardrobe.

Marty Friedman-"Inferno". I have not followed his Japanese only releases, however, I saw an interview with him on That Metal Show wherein he discussed this album as his return to metal. Album does rip. Mix of instrumentals and songs with guest singers (Danko Jones and others). :shred: 8)

Absolutely awesome muzak. I strongly recommend.

Also this! Awesome, awesome DM.

Two for the DIO lovers in the house:

Image

Hollywood Monsters-"Big Trouble", features Vinny Appice and Don Airey. Rocks hard in a Rainbow sort of way. Been spinning it all weekend, and am really enjoying it.

Image

Wami-"Kill the King", another Vinny Appice production, this time featuring Doogie White on vocals. Very Dio-solo band-ish. Good stuff :drum: 8)

Me too but i'm having a hard time finding it at a reasonable price. I'm predicting it being in my year end top 5 for sure. Total early Pestilence vibe. :m:

What do you mean by "we'll"?
The songs i've heard sounded awesome, just hitting the spot perfectly right now. It's a pretty slow year so far but lots of stuff i'm looking forward to so hopefully they don't disappoint. Claiming it in my top 5 is a bit premature but like I said, Soul Recall is hitting the sweet spot at the moment.

Hollywood Monsters looks promising for sure. I'll give that more of a look-see. Wami sounds promising but dear God is that album cover ever pants. Vinny should've overseen the album cover layout after producing the album itself; it looks like a rejected album sleeve outtake from the Punisher soundtrack album from 1995. Lose one point though the music itself very likely rocks solid tits.

Total Arghoslent worship but so damn good and even better on repeated listenings. This has not strayed far from my CD player all year.

Exordium Mors - The Apotheosis of Death

http://exordiummors.bandcamp.com/album/ ... s-of-death

I am also in love with this thrashy BM/DM band from New Zealand. Ferocious and fresh. How's that for alliteration? :)

CDs are already sold out via the bandcamp page but I did see it's available for $6 for the CD and $7 for shipping on the Label shop page below. I guess not terrible to pay $13 for the CD in the end.

New album from power metal veterans Nightmare. For fans of Brainstorm and Grave Digger.

Picked up the new Midnight at their most recent show in Toronto. Sounds like Midnight. Not quite as good as "Complete And Total Fucking Midnight" but still is good (after all, it is Midnight). Best experienced loud and with alcohol. Sound is not as clean as "Satanic Royalty" but not as dirty as "Complete And Total." It'll be hard to keep this out of my top 15 this year.

BTW: If you don't know Midnight, this album is as good an introduction as any. Check out some songs on Youtube and get this album.

Thanks for recommending that MIASMAL record guys, it's a damn good album. Loving the hell out the opening track the best, right for that lead guitar in the chorus!
