Was originally going to post a separate thread but put it here instead, hence the name omission :).

ohh shit, glad you didn't post this when I was round those parts like 2 weeks ago. I eyed up Rotate This and some nearby places pretty hard, but broke the bank pretty wickedly on \m/ COOOMMIICS. \m/

DID score Minotauri at Sonic Boom. (along with Therion's Lepaca Kliffoth \m/ and a few other gems for the seat console crown)

worth it for the cover alone

Check this nonsense out: :(

The singer of Ghost maes me think of a wide grin. His voice is subtly sardonic. Fitting for a band so overtly Satanical, methinks.

Frostrite by Borknagar justifies Vortex's existence. That song RULES.

Borknagar, for some reason, has transitioned into Parliament Funkadelic tonight. I swear my collection is getting too damn crowded.

Then again if you don't like this at least a little you may, in truth, be dead inside:

I had no idea. I just learned of this the other day. So very sad. The man had immense talent. His Final Darkness project was/is intense. One of my favorites from 2011.

If you guys want to make some blind buy like it used to be back in the days before those internets thing Relapse Records and Willowtip Records have grab bags for sale.

Willowtip sells 10cds of their roster along with merch for $25 and Relapse has various deals like a fun 30 Relapse titles at random for $30.

I did that with Century Media once and got a whole bunch of fucking crap.

Well what do you expect from Century Media, their roster is 90% shit unless since 98. Risks are high. Relapse on the other hand play in a field I enjoy, be it grind, sludge, experimental stuff they release, so I decided to pick one up for the hell of it and just got it - quite a cool box, some stuff I'm not sold on but overall I'm happy with it for $1 a CD.

Here's what I got that I like:
Suffocation - s/t
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Under the Running Board (reissue)
Coldworker - Rotting Paradise
Coliseum - No Salvation
Coalesce - 0:12 (reissue)
V/A - Relapse Singles Series Vol. 3 (Incantation Repulsion etc.)
Cephalic Carnage - Xenosapien
Unsane - Blood Run
The End - Elementary
Morgion - Relapse Collection (2CDs)
Dolemite - The Soundtrack :)
Genghis Tron - Board Up the House (already got that one though)
Minsk - With Echoes in the Movement of Stone

Acceptable stuff I got:
Soilent Green - Confrontation
Blood Duster - Fisting the Dead
Jucifer - If Thine Enemy Hunger
Scott Hull - Requiem
Agenda of Swine - Waves of Human Suffering
Hero Destroyed - s/t
High on Fire - Live at Contamination Fest
Vverevvolf Grehv - Zombie Aesthetics

Meh or Shit:
Brutal Truth - Evolution Through Revolution
Bongzilla - Amerijuanican
Kingdom of Sorrow - s/t
Brian Poshen - Fart and Wiener Jokes

Stuff I never heard about:
Don Caballero - Punkgasm
Don Caballero - World Class Listening Problem

So overall yeah, worth it! Lot of stuff to listen to in the car for the next weeks. :m:

I know it's early but Iced Earth's 'Peacemaker' is gonna be a contender for song of the year! :m:

I really like the album up to that point. The first 8 songs make the album for me, everything thereafter seems really tacked on.

Some songs (Ctulu, The End) I like better than anything on Dystopia. But I'd say that I prefer Dystopia slightly overall.

Still, a good album. :m:

Relapse has a lot of good stuff but I can't stand that sludge, stoner, weirdness shit. :) CM actually sent me like two comps, this Judas Priest tribute thing  and a few cds I already had. It was a long time ago and I honestly don't know what the fuck I was thinking. It was only 10 cds though, not 30.

After one listen, I'm thinking Triumph and Power may be my favorite Grand Magus album yet.

Interesting that you posted this. I saw GW numerous times over the years and they never disappointed. This is pre-Stationblaze. Jack Russell was always spot-on. Vocally, he gave me the chills at times. The band was quite possibly one of the tightest, most professional sounding group of musicians that I ever heard. Everytime they busted out a Zeppelin cover they just totally sold it like it was theirs.

Honestly, if he hadn't injured his back (or whatever) and had managed to maintain his chops over years, I think Jack would have been a shoe-in as a replacement vocalist during Zeppelin's legacy tour. He would have been perfect.
