Post So new Megadeth...
WARRIORS.
*clink clink clink*

Let's tear this shit up!

Dave's finally aping Megadeth and it's hard not to dig it. The new line-up is really fresh.

Besides the singles so far, which are among the stand-outs; Death From Within, Poisonous Shadows, and Lying in State are pretty great.

Post-American World and Foreign Policy are pretty bad. Conquer or Die was kind of pointless.

So, fellow internet warriors... Image

I think it fucking smokes. New lineup makes it sound almost like a new band but with all the Megadeth patterns and Dave's rasp thrown in. I was really starting to wonder how Mustaine would make his whole schtick fresh again but god damn, this is a solid piece of work. It annihilates Super Collider to a point where I feel like that album was a lameduck setup just so he could knock this one out. Easily better than Thirteen as well - right on par with Endgame but with the new members it's COMPLETELY different.

Production is top notch. Mustaine is on point with his delivery and lyrics. New blood make it all brand new again. Even the typical Dave 'relationship' song doesn't make me roll my eyes.

Excellent job!

Reviews seem pretty positive overall. Interested to hear it. I don't think I even heard the last 2...

Dave hasn't written a good album since Youthanasia or maybe Cryptic Writings. He's done a handful of absolute wreckers, but his albums on the whole have been pretty much shit. I just can't get excited for this. I'll listen to it, but Megadeth that's anything more than mediocre right now would be nothing less than thrilling. If Endgame is the high water mark that they're aiming for? Eeeeesh.

megadave can still write a song, just not an album. still warrants a listen, even if none of the recent albums have me revisiting them much.

On it's way in the mail, and I am glad it's advanced press is good. I dig all the reunion albums quite a bit, aside from "Super Collider", which was so bad I thought the band might be done :o :(

His aged voice bothers me more now.

He used to have a youthful snarl and now it's more of a creaky mumble.

Yet no matter how easy the guy is to criticize, and regardless of the clunker every now and then, the guy still continues to write some of the best songs out of all the big thrash bands from that Era. Even if they don't always make up one hitkicker of an album, from start to finish, like the RIP we've always wanted another of. The guy blends his own wants with those of his fans pretty well actually.

I really can't stand this guy. He's like a Thrash version of Donald Trump. Great guitar player, wrote some of the best Thrash ever, but he's a fucking tool.

You want one of the old guard that are still making kick ass Thrash: Death Angel folks. New album is recorded and should be out later this year.

And if you all vote the new Anthrax AotY this year, I will probably throw my arms up in frustration and cry to the gods "Why, oh mighty Thor, WHY!!!"

I'll make it easy for you. I like Megadeth. I don't like Death Angel. I fucking loathe Anthrax.

You did make it easy, thank you. Based on your statement and my fully unabashed love for all things DA, I can rest assured that I will probably hate the new Megadeth.

I prefer it now over the old goofy voice.

Nobody could fault you though. There must be at least 10,000 more 4th and 5th generation, transcendental, one and two man black metal bands that use wildlife for vocals that need your handjobs to survive.

Yes it lacks the eliteness that pours out of your frostbitten horn of grimlyness.

I'm encouraged to hear the new Megadeth. I did like the first single, especially the intro, which smoked.

You're too smart to believe me if I said Inquisition, yet too dumb to get it. :stupider:
