Post Favorite of the "lesser" Immortal albums
If we add the other 3, we all know it will be a battle between them. Didn't add the new one because fuck that thing anyway. So which one of the "lesser" Immortal albums do you like best? I've always been partial to Battles in the North myself.

'Blizzard Beasts' despite the inconsistent/crappy sound.

You're questioning an album that shouldn't be on the list but then not pick it?

argh, whatever

As for ASF, the only people who would have voted for it was the people that have only heard that album. :)

Throned by Blackstorms!

Battles in the North. Easily. But I don't even consider it lesser. It may be me second favourite. It's hard to decide for me between it, Pure Holocaust, At the Heart... and Sons...

I was surprised by Battles being chosen on the IGN list. I love Battles... but At the Heart of Winter is usually always chosen when it comes to Immortal being on such a list.

Actually, on my loooong drive home last night I was cranking Battles (as part of my this week Immortal series of drive home music) and thinking about making an Immortal poll. But once I got home and starting cooking dinner, it slipped my mind. So thanks! :)

Of these, Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism, although I don't consider that to be a "lesser" album. The first three are easily their best, with Pure Holocaust being their crowning achievement as far as I'm concerned.

Damned in Black. If only for Abbath's voice squeaking on the opening scream on the first song.

Diabolical obviously

Whats with all the Battles love sure its good but Damned Blizzard and of course the rest (well fuck All Shall Fall it doesn't reallly count) are all better. And PH annihilate it of course.

Whats puzzling from the people into ATHOW and SOND is the lack of love for DIB. As worthy.

Post Re: Favorite of the "lesser" Immortal albums
I have to admit, the sound on albums like Battles in the North just kill it for me. I own several of the early albums and just can't get into them. My intro to the band was Sons, I then got At The Heart.. and said "wow, these guys can do no wrong" and blindly bought a bunch of their other albums only to be rather letdown.

I would go with Dammed on this list, not because I think the songs are better than Battles, etc. but just cause I can actually tolerate the production :P
