I'm going to really piss Vittra and Rocky D off, here...

I've never listened to StarGazer. :)

Not surprised by the lack of response in this thread. Surprised that this band continues to be overlooked by so many people on this forum and elsewhere. StarGazer is massive, talented beyond any kind of talent rating, bordering on elite godlike status. Yes they are that good and they should be worshipped. That's all I have to say about that.

Post Re: STARGAZER - "An Earth Rides Its Endless Carousel"
I think it's important to keep in mind that it's a friday evening, and that traditionally, most bands out of the norm don't get responses on the BB and never have. Most people who used to post unique stuff have either stopped doing so or don't even post on the board anymore.

This band is so far beyond the norm that most people who even enjoy black or death metal don't approach them. Over the years I've mentioned them to people, some braveboarders, and they just don't get it.

Part of the appeal of this band to me is that it's a 3 piece, and the bassist represents a core in the trio that many metal in the "extreme" sphere lack. Killer bass lines played superbly that support the drums and meld with the guitar in sublime ways.

This isn't an entirely unique scenario when it comes to Australian bands, as there are quite a few people will never like. Sacriphyx and Misery's Omen are two such others, and unsurprisingly, both related to StarGazer.

Song wasn't bad, not exactly gonna remove NWNP from my blocked email list to order it. Wake me up when Infernal War has new material.

I was in the same camp as Blasphomet up there, until listening to the new track. I dig it, but I definitely feel like it's something that needs time to be digested. One cursory listen at work is not going to cut it.

I will definitely be looking into their previous full lengths as time/funds allow.

Fucking A! Will blind buy! As for this bands accessibility, I never found them overly hard to get into. The only thing they may do is genre cross a bit, but I've always found them rather accessible.

I have both of their full length's, and am really looking forward to this one. Killer band, doing some technical shit with out wanking too much, or making it sound like it was recorded in a doctor's office.

I remember trying to get a friend of mine into this band, and he listens to quite of death metal, but his ambivalence towards it was quite shocking.

Anyway, good news!

K fine I'll listen. THey've actually been on my radar for a while because of some of you dudes... just never got around to it. With a new release coming, I suppose it's as good a time as any.

It's also basically the same band as CBR, Mournful Congregation, Misery's Omen and Martire. Fuck......what a resume

I revoke my lukewarm statements about this band, that one sample doesn't tell the whole story. I downloaded "..Tore The Sky" and it basically tore me a new asshole.

Nice work not bringing this up earlier guys, no really, I love finding out about bands a decade after the fact. Quick, someone make another Slipknot Machine Head thread! I think DragonForce has a new album out, commence fapping. So not only is my place infested with spiders, but I can't count on you guys for shit.

Yeah, this is really a band that we should talk about more... I mean, they have come up now and then but they definitely fly under the radar on this board

Also it's called The Scream That Tore the Sky, which is one of the best album titles ever

they've been mentioned plenty of times. I even made a dedicated thread to them a few years back during the bullshit waste of time "band of the week" thing I tried.

which is total shit and one of the major reasons for the same threads again and again and again....

Stargazer rules and I wish more people here would discuss interesting bands like them instead of blindly masturbating over the regurgitated shit by has-beens that CM, NB, RR, MB and other first-year Metal labels choose to release.
