Probably because it doesn't sound like Simple Minds in the same way that Everything Now does. In fact....sorry to betray my CanCon roots but maybe it'd be better to simply listen to Simple Minds instead?

I haven't heard Everything Now.

new YOB single is awesome. Very reminiscent of the title track to "The Great Cessation" https://youtu.be/tGgEvV3W2qc

Arcade Fire do align themselves with proper talent like Bowie and U2 so they get a slight pass. I've even seen 'em live and they were entertaining but Everything Now only makes me want to listen to Simple Minds do their type of thing way better.

Killing Joke's "European Super State" is my favorite song right now. I could listen to that single song for hours.

I always thought Simple Minds were Roxy Music knock off's. Respect though he got to park Chrissie Hynde.

and I don't know how you couldn't dance to this below.

Well, my mom said if I got tickets to Luke Bryan, she would go. I said no thanks.

I loved Buckley's grilling of Luke Bryan earlier this month:

I hate Luke Bryan's music. With a passion.

My guitar teacher was delighted to see Luke Bryan end up on a Musical Autopsy segment. He abhors him, claiming that if he saw him walking across the street, he'd run him over.

I really don't see why he is popular. I mean, there's a lot of music I don't like, but I can see why it's as popular as it is.

Even the guys at my workplace (late teens to mid 30s) seem to like this kind of stuff. The guys in that age range that I worked with in the mid to late 2000s never listened to country. The majority of them listened to late 1990s/2000s era rock that's mostly hated here, but still fell under the rock umbrella, with perhaps a few classic rock bands and a few of the most mainstream metal bands thrown in. None of them were into country of any kind, with the possible exception of Johnny Cash and/or Hank Williams. Now the guys I work with in that age range largely like country, and not the Hank Williams kind, but bro country. The worst country ever.

I wanna Falsepose.

Here's what's in my head for the last 15 minutes, since Skinhead Jamboree finished (which, also could've fit in here.)

My Bloody Valentine -Only Shallow

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FyYMzEplnfU

Curve - Fait Accompli (very influenced by the MBV track)

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9Plourz3Xs

I mean, yeah, Shirley Manson was kinda hot, but man Toni Halliday from Curve? My god.

Then, Slint - The Spiderland album. Just kinda perfect.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FAApF-FDkoY

I'm gonna smoke a bowl.

Rules so much. Still keeping fingers crossed for a Toronto date on that tour. There are some possible open dates it looks like. I won't hold my breath though. Doubt it'll happen. Maybe next time since they are kicking again.

Don't mind the name tbh and if I did, I guess I would have a problem with My Dying Bride too.

But yeah they rule so much. Loveless is pretty much untouchable but it would be a mistake to stop there when they've made so much greatness on other releases, most notably on their 1987-1991 EPs
